Nancy E Wiist is an artist who paints in miniature watercolors plein air and Glimpses of Melody natures sketches on music. Nancy's paintings are inspired by her love of outdoors, hiking, gardens, and the little wonders found in nature. She sketches using ink and watercolor washes delicately onto up-cycled vintage music page. The transparent nature of watercolor allows the music page to be seen through as stained glass window.

From the owner:
"My name is Vicki Hummel, a.k.a. Vickarella - I am a lover of ALL things that evoke creativity.
From the time I was little, I was slinging mud pies, pressing flowers/leaves, and creating homemade stamps; out of potatoes I snuck from the kitchen. In my preteens, my amazing grandmother taught me how to knit and crochet. She was a huge influence, and inspiration to me. My momma taught me needlepoint, embroidery and quilting. The more I learned, created and experienced, the bigger the projects got that I tackled.
Middle school was weird, I was weird. As someone who wasn’t always good at putting feelings into words, I found drawing. It gave me an escape – a sense of freedom and power. Drawing and creating helped me understand my emotions and got me through some tough years; giving me strength, which also helped to build my confidence.
Throughout my teens I gobbled up every art class I could. I wanted to learn everything. Every medium. Every technique. In High School I basically lived in the art room. Study hall - art room, lunch - art room, after school - art room. Summers I volunteered at the local art center and took pottery classes.
Fast forward to today, I have a B.S. in Graphic Design and Marketing, specializing in Illustration. I also studied Modeling, Animation and VFX at the Academy of Art University.
I have worked in the creative industry for the past 25 years as an Art Director and Department Manager.
Vickarella’s spawned from my love of the arts. I love creating handmade items, which I sell at local artisan events. I also teach and host classes. Classes are about getting your hands dirty – diving in and trying something new. There is nothing better than watching the pure enjoyment folks have when they’re knee deep in supplies. Whether trying your hand at Felting, Macrame, Needlepoint or creating a Fairy Garden or Planter, I’ve got ideas for every age group. It has given me a way to help individuals express, explore and find their creative voices - and seeing them create is both inspiring and gratifying.
Nice to meet you!"
