Easter Take Home Craft

We are sending home crafts for those who registered following our Easter Egg Hunt on April 3rd! Please find below the instructions and instructional video for the take home Sock Bunny Craft from Ashcombe!

Adapted from A Pumpkin and A Princes

Supplies:

  • Kid sized crew cut sock
  • 1 1/4 cup dried rice
  • Pink felt
  • White felt
  • 6″ of 1/4″ ribbon
  • 2 Googly eyes
  • 2 small rubber bands
  • Glue
  • Fabric Scissors

Instructions

Stretch the neck of your sock and fill with 1 cup of dried rice. Stretch and pull the sock until it is tight around the rice and forms a tight ball. Secure tightly with a rubber band and pull sock tight again.

Stretch the remaining fabric wide and fill head with 1/4 cup dried rice. Stretch and pull the sock until it is tight around the rice and forms a small ball and make the head. Secure with a rubber band then pull and tighten the fabric again.

Using sharp fabric scissors, cut oval shapes from the excess fabric for the ears. With the white felt, cut an oval for the tummy, peel the protective paper and secure to the sock. With the extra white felt, carefully cut small buck teeth, peel and apply. With the pink felt circle, fold it in half and cut two pointed ovals for the ears, use the excess to carefully cut a small triangle for the nose. Peel and stick the ears and nose. Peel the protective backing off the googly eyes and apply.

Use the ribbon to create a neck tie, secure with glue. Flip your bunny over and glue on the cottontail and your creation is done!
