Earth Day at Ashcombe
Saturday, April 25th, 10-2 p.m.
Let's "Grow" Together this Earth Day!
Come celebrate our Earth with sustainably-minded vendors, upcycled kids crafts, and fun facts posted throughout our Nursery.
Vendors will be located in our Bloom Room (blue building in our parking lot) and our Courtyard (located in the main store). See who's coming below!
Vendors
Located in the Courtyard (accessible through the main store):
Tiny's Treasures
Tiny's Treasures specializes in nature-themed art, featuring upcycled tie dyes, sea urchin lamps, all natural herbal salves, block printing, and more!
"Sustainability to us is about using items found in nature to create art, including inspiration. Growing herbs to use in products, while also giving food for the local pollinators. As well as up-cycling beautiful pieces of clothing to give them new life as tie dye geared towards women."
Organic Dose
"We use organic materials from earth, no pesticides. We use all paper box/bags/wrap materials, and we are conscious of how we handle our business and the impact it has on Earth and humans."
Organic Dose offers soaps, bombs, salts, salves, tallows, candles, floral bottles, antique magnets, and framed canvas prints.
Nini's Curiosities
Nini's Curiosities features feather artworks of jewelry, hair and hat clips, wands, fans, home decor and more. Feathers are ethically sourced from working with local hunters, foragers, farmers and falconers to procure her feathers, using a zero waste mindset in her creations. Anahata Candle Co.
Anahata Candle Co. offers hand-poured soy wax candles and wax melts made mostly in upcycled vessels using the earth-friendly ingredients.
"Sustainability is truly in our everyday practices - whether it is re-using the vessels to re-pour our candles into or utilizing the leftover supplies to make upcycled fire starters. Sustainability is paramount to us here at Anahata Candle Co and guides everything we do to make sure we leave as small of a footprint on Earth as possible."
Ali Bowling Art
Ali Bowling creates beautiful watercolor paintings focused on nature and birds. In the artist's full time role, she is an executive advisor for climate and sustainability in the conservation field.
"My art reflects the need to appreciate the natural world, be more sustainable, and conserve it. I have done a few art pieces on the importance of bird-friendly sustainable coffee that showcases birds that migrate from Pennsylvania to South America that rely on habitat provided by shade grown coffee. I aim to minimize any single use plastic and make the process as sustainable as possible."
My Peruvian Treasures
My Peruvian Treasure provides ethical and sustainable apparel, accessories and home textiles, handcrafted from eco-friendly and upcycled fibers. They also have botanical jewelry made from real flowers. A portion of sales supports social and environmental causes.
"Our products are eco-friendly, ethically, and sustainably made from conception of ideas, to craftsmanship with organic, natural, recycle and upcycled fibers to recycle packaging for shipping. We respect the makers and the planet and its resources."
Bear & Beaver
Located at the Lemoyne Antique Marketplace, Bear & Beaver offers vintage glassware recycled into garden flowers.
"Sustainability is saving as many items from the landfill as possible. Our glass flowers are made of glassware that was thrown out or donated as they were no longer in use. Now they are in sunlight sparkling and lovely."
